9/8 - Fifth day in Kauai
The best day of summer. Hands down. No questions.
What did we do? Well, in the morning not much. Woke up, had some yogurt and cereal for breakfast, had a shower and got ready. Then at 11:20 we left the hotel to GO ON A BOAT TRIP! Yes, it was as awesome as it sounds. The bus station wasn't too far away, and even if it would have been, the environment was too pretty to notice the distance. Everything was soo green and full with flowers.
We arrived there early, so we had to wait, but eventually we got on the bus and stayed on it for 20 minutes, when we had to change buses. We did and after an hour, we arrived to our final destination. Very close to Hanapepe -the little town that inspired Lilo and Stitch-, on the coast, the Blue Dolphin Charters. After checking in we had to wait for almost an hour, but eventually all the passengers arrived and the captain also appeared. He was the coolest hawaiian I know. So lovely and nice. We got on the boat and after a few safety instructions the captain turned some music on -he said "He has a terible voice, but since we will never meet again, he doesn't care and he will sing"-, and the two crew people -they have the best job ever! Shorts, bikini, loose shirt, sunglasses, being baarefoot, on the ocean, having fun- started to walk around with snacks and drinks. After a little time the bar opened so we... started to drink. We headed to the Na Pali Coast, and on the was we passed by coasts that were in different movies. Like the Pirates of the Carebbean 4 and Jurassic Park... We went under a waterfall with the boat, and the Captain kept telling us stories and some history as well. Once he turned on the music from Titanic and told us that everybody can go to the front to do the movie scene... we did and we sang out loud with Chloe. It was incredible. Also we saw the Forbidden Island, Niihau. It only has 250 citizens, they are all native hawaiian people and no visitors can step on the island, except if they are invited by a citizen. How awesome is that?! All together I took 250 pictures and videos, the scenery was beautiful. There was a lady and hee husband from California, and they were lovely, we had a nice chat with them. I had the flower in my hair and the lady asked about it. I told her that if it is on the righr side that shows everyone that someone is single and if it's on the other side, then that the person is taken. And when she saw me talking to the handsome crew guy she came over and whispered: "Keep wearing that flower, he is really cute" 😁
On the way back we had dinner, but since I drank 6 cups of different coctails just like Chloe, we weren't feeling very well... so we asked them to wrap it for us so we can take it home. We watched the sunset and we got champaigne to drink, and ooh there was a riff off! It was the funniest thing ever! So right before an other boat passed by us, we all went to that side of the boat, and the Captain turned on some awesome music (24k magic, uptown funk, Michael Jackson) and we had to show the other boat how much fun were having. Everybody was singing out loud, dancing... apparently there is this competition between the boat captains, and it's always our Captain who wins. The people on the other boats are just sitting quietly waiting to be back, and his boat is always the party boat. So we won! Then we throw a karaoke party, and when he asked who wants to sing with the microphone, Chloe pointed at me. So I pointed at her. But thank God eventually a mom did it. She said that I had to help her. So I sang from my heart, and when the first song was over she turned around and said "Whoa, that was incredible!". I took it as a conplement.
But no matter how much fun we had, the day was over, we arrived back. We thanked the guys very very much -took selfies with them-, I also hugged the captain and then we left to find the bus stop. We did easily, but had to wait almost an hour. So what do Chloe and Zsofi do when they are waiting and are bored? Sing! So we sang quite a few songs, like the cup song, some Adele songs, Jessie J... it was an awesome ending of an incredible day.
Was it expensive? Khmm. A bit. Was it worth it? HELL YEAH IT WAS!
