08/29 - Travelling towards my dream

On Tuesday we left the hotel, said goodbye to Cris and walked all the way to Port Authority Bus Terminal at 3 AM. The subway took us to the JFK airport. We arrived there at 3:30 AM and after checking Claire in, we said goodbye. I didn't think I could cry since I was so tired, but turns out, you can cry just as well.
Since our gates with Chloe opened just at 7AM, we still had 3 hours that we spent sitting on the ground, talking, using WiFi, still processing the fact that we are going to Hawai'i. Had a donut and caramel cappucino from Dunkin' Donuts as a breakfast at 5 AM.
Eventually, after 7AM we checked Chloe's luggage in, and shortly after that, we said goodbye so I could go to my terminal and check in. I did and went through security pretty quickly, and after waiting an hour, we started boarding and travelled all the way to Los Angeles. I have to mention the fact that we flought over the Grand Canyon and it was incredible!
After a short layover -1 hour- I got on an other airplane and flought for 6 hours again, and eventually we landed on Oahu at 5 PM Hawai'i time. It means that it was 11PM in New York, so I was awake for 30 hours -since I slept 6 hours on and off on the plane-.
I was quite disappointed, since when we landed, it was raining, lightning and there was a flood warning out, so I didn't have that Aloha feeling at first. While waiting on the luggages, Chloe found me and I immediately felt better. The fact that I was not alone anymore helped quite a lot.
When my luggage arrived, we paid for a shuttle bus, and eventually -after getting a bit lost because of different instructions- got on it and started heading to our hostel in Waikiki.
During the way I was pretty flatered because the lady who was also on the bus asked us where are we from, and when I said Hungary, she was truly surprised and said, she thought I'm from America, since I have 0 accent and I talk very very well. She thinks I should work as an interpreter... It made my day...
When we arrived, we checked in -of course, it didn't go easily, we still have to sort things out-, and the receptionist guy was sooo nice.
We took our room, and after a bit of chilling, around 8PM, we left, to get some food. Not far from our place, I'd say a 5 minute walk, there was a Burger King, and since we didn't get proper food on the plane, we took over the place.
After stuffing our belly, we sat down on a banch right on the beach -which was on the other side of the street-, and just talked, since both of us were stressed. It was really nice.
And this was it. Around 9 we returned to the hostel and went to bed, because we didn't sleep for almost 48 hours by then.
I have to say, it's boiling hot here!

Kedden hajnali 3-kor elkoszontunk Cristol, elelhagytuk a hitelt es elsetaltunk egeszen a Port Authority buszmegalloig , ahol a metrora felszallva elszaguldottunk a JFK repterre. Nagyjabol fel 4-re ertunk oda, es miutan becsekkoltuk Claire boeondjet, ideje volt a bucsunak Claire-tol. Nem hittem volna, hogy fogok tudni sirni, hiszen addigra mar hulla faradt voltam, de mint kiderult, ugyanolyan jol lehet sirni faradtan is.
Mivel a mi jaratainkhoz a kapuk csak reggel 7-kor nyiltak, meg volt 3 orank ulni, beszelgetni, nevetni, hasznalni a repter ingyenes WiFi-jet es feldolgozni a tenyt, hoyg mi bizony nemsokara Hawai'ra tartunk majd. Ja, es reggeli gyanant bedobni egy fankot es egy karamellas cappucinot a Dunkin' Donuts-bol hajnali 5-kor.
Vegul csak eljott a 7 ora es becsekkoltunk Chloe taskajat is -ez mar 2/3-, majd nem sokkal kesobb egymastol is elbucsuztunk, hogy en is be tudjak csekkolni. Meg is tortent es a biztonsagi vizsgalaton is eleg gyorsan atmentem, majd laza egy ora varakozas utan elkezdunk beszallni es elrepultunk Los Angeles-be. Itt meg kell emlitenem, hogy elrepultunk a Grand Canyon felett, es egeszen elkepeszto latvany volt!
Egy rovidke oranyi varakozas utan felszalltam egy masik gepre, hogy hat ora utazast kovetoen megerkezzeh Oahu-ra delutan 5 orakor Hawai'i ido szerint. Ez 11 ora volt New York-i ido szerint, tehat akkorra mar kozel 30 oraja nem aludtam, csak a repulon ossze-vissza nagyjabol 6 orat.
A landolast kovetoen kicsit csalodott voltam, hiszen szakadt az eso, villamlott, es arvizveszely allt fent, igy tehat nem jart at egybol az Aloha feeling.
Mig a csomagomra varakoztam, Chloe megtalalt, amitol egybol jobban ereztem magam. A teny, hogy nem voltam egyedul, sokat segitett. Mikor vegul megerkezett a borondom, kidizettuk a shuttle bus-t, es miutan rovid varakozas utan beszalltunk, elindultunk Waikiki fele.
A buszon ult egy neni, aki miutan valaszoltam kerdesere, miszerint hova valosi vagyok, oszinten megdobbent. Azt mondta, azt hitte, hogy amerikai vagyok, mert egyaltalan nincs akcentusom es gyonyoruen beszelem az angolt. Es, hogy szerinte tolmacsnak kene mennem. Ez igazan feldobta a napom.
Miutan megerkeztunk, becsekkoltunk - persze nem ment siman, meg mindig ki kell talalni valami megoldast-, a recepcios srac nayon jofej volt.
Elfoglaltuk a szobat, majd rgy rovid pihenot kovetoen este 8 korul nekiindultunk, hogy talaljunk valami elelmet. Mivel a repulon nem kaptunk rendes kajat, ehesek voltunk, igy vegul egy 5 percnyi setara levo Burger Kingre esett a valasztasunk.
Miutan megtomtuk a hasunkat, leultunk egy padra a part mellett -ami kozvetlenul az utca tuloldalan volt!!-, es csak beszelgettunk. Mivel mindketten stresszesek es faradtak voltunk, jol esett.
Es ennyi volt. 9 ora korul visszatertunk a hostelbe, hogy aludjunk, ugyanis akkor mar kozel 48 oraja nem aludtunk.
Megjegyzem, kegyetlen hoseg van!
